  22.    Hello once again!!! I know it has been awhile since I written you, but 
  23. alais I am once again finding some time to get back to coding. (Finally!)

  25.    I am having a slight problem with the Intuition Extension. (Probally 
  26. operator error on my part, but was hoping for some enlightenment!)
  27.  
  28.    Background:
  29.     Tring to use IRequest Screen, to set-up a new screen of the users
  30.     choice, and then run the application from there. (This is in an
  31.     attempt to be as compatable & as friendly to the users system as
  32.     possible; reguardless of display limitations/enhancements.)
  33.         - My test:
  34.           Configured with Spectrum EGS system, and run 800x600 WB.
  35.           Would like my application to open an 800x600/16 color.

  37.    What I tried to do:
  38.     Gather information on the desired screen via IRequest Screen, by
  39.     using the requester. Then taking those same settings (Width, Height,
  40.     Colors, and mode) and opening a screen with IScreen Open.

  42.    Results:
  43.     IScreen Request
  44.         IReq Scr Colour:    16
  45.         IReq Scr Height:    600
  46.         IReq Scr Mode:        4
  47.         IReq Scr Width:        800

  53.     What I see
  54.         The opened screen appears to be a standard 640x400
  55.         screen. (I open a few windows offset, and they get chopped
  56.         off.)

  58.    I know I am missing something, but I can not seem to get the "Plain-
  59.    language" (ie: Hires; Superhires; VGA; ect) screen modes like the ones
  60.    that appear in the requester. (Your requester DOES give the same
  61.    options that I get from the Prefs ScreenMode, so I know that they are
  62.    there and your extension is seeing them.)

  64.    What I would like:
  65.       To know what I am doing wrong, and to be able to have the user select
  66.     a screenmode, even if it is not one of the "Amiga standards". I have
  67.     also taken a look at the Env Archieve: screenmode.prefs; but do not
  68.     know how to decode, parse, and read the file from AMOSPro. (It is an
  69.      ILBM Form.) And without a definitive listing of the most commonaly
  70.     used screenmodes, makes it that much harder.
